OUR BOURBON IS CRAFTED, AGED, BARRELED, BOTTLED IN KENTUCKY AND RAISED IN TEXAS ONLY. SOURCED FROM KENTUCKY

Hidden deep within Kentucky’s legendary rick houses are barrels that were never meant to leave their darkened confines. Not because they weren't exceptional, but simply because they were far too damn good to bear being blended into the masses of more ordinary spirits. Left behind, overlooked, or tragically destined to be blended away and forgotten, we saw those barrels in an entirely different, more vibrant light. We don’t just distill; we discover and uncover the hidden jewels of flavor that rest within those forgotten barrels. Our process is refreshingly simple yet incredibly precise—everything begins in the heart of Kentucky, where we meticulously hand-select aged barrels that stand out with undeniable character and distinction. Each one is chosen for its remarkable depth, rich and complex flavor, and the unique story it tells, which is just waiting to be revealed. From there, we bottle our meticulously chosen selections right in Kentucky, artfully adding our final touches and thoughtfully finishing the narrative of our whiskey in finely crafted Texas glasses.

OUR STORY BEGINS WHERE ALL GREAT BOURBON IS BORN, DEEP IN THE HEART OF EACH BRILLIANT BARREL. BEFORE IT EVER MEETS A GLASS, BOURBON WRITES ITS GRAND HISTORY IN THE RICH ELEMENTS OF WOOD, INTENSE FIRE, AND THE PASSAGE OF TIME. EVERY SINGLE BARREL WE SELECT GOES THROUGH A TAILORED, DISTINCTIVE FINISH FROM TORCHTREE BARRELS, CRAFTED TO PERFECTION. EACH BARREL WE CHOOSE IS HANDPICKED FROM KENTUCKY’S FINEST RICKHOUSES, SELECTED NOT JUST FOR ITS AGE, BUT FOR THE RICH, NATURAL FLAVOR IT OFFERS. NOT EVERY GREAT BOURBON IS INTRODUCED IN THE PROPER WAY, SO OUR INTENTION IS TO PRESENT KENTUCKY BOURBON IN THE TRULY AUTHENTIC MANNER IN WHICH IT WAS MEANT TO BE EXPERIENCED, AT ITS RAWEST FORM OF LIFE.

single barrel 7 year

Torchtree Bourbon Single Barrel, aged 7 years, with an original fill date of September 18, 2017. This expression opens with rich notes of caramel and vanilla, finishing with warm baking spices that bring to mind fresh cookie dough.

Distilled at the 10th oldest distillery in Kentucky operating since the late 1800s using classic Kentucky methods and a 40-year-old still with a copper rectifier.

This barrel was aged on the 3rd floor of a rick house in Owensboro, Kentucky a sweet spot known as the “ Goldilocks zone” for bourbon aging. At this mid-level height, temperature swings are perfectly balanced. Warm air from above and cooler conditions below create ideal maturation accelerating complexity while maintaining balance. Kentucky and Texas has one thing in common slow aged bourbon and slow cooked brisket.

Finished in Char 4 barrels, the heaviest level of char. This deep char causes the oak to peel slightly, increasing surface area and extracting maximum flavor. Each sip is the result of years of seasonal shifts: hot, humid summers and frigid winters that force the bourbon in and out of the oak staves, delivering 100% of its rich color and most of its flavor.

Awards & Recognitions

  • Torchtree Bourbon earned a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition one of the most respected judging panels in the industry. Our 7-year Kentucky Straight Bourbon went barrel-to-barrel against older 10-year expressions and held its ground, proving that age doesn’t always define greatness.

Selected as a single barrel, bottled at 100 proof ( 50% ABV ), and crafted with a high-rye mash bill, Torchtree stood out in a field packed with heavy hitters delivering bold character, balance, and complexity.

Founder

My story didn't start in Kentucky it started in a garage. Brewing beer. Fermenting seltzers. Teaching myself the craft of how flavor works and how patience pays off. But behind all of that, I kept coming back to bourbon. Not just for the taste but for the tradition. The same tradition Texans feel cracking open their first red soda. The same pride in slow-curing a brisket for hours, fire low and steady. The same comfort Ketuckians find in a hot brown after a long day, or the way grandma's bread pudding fills the house after Sunday service. That's what bourbon is. However you define tradition it's sealed in every bottle. Bourbon captures a moment you can't get back and that's what makes it worth pouring. And like a family tree built on passion and fire, our roots run deep sourcing from rick houses and distilleries across the hills and hollers of Kentucky, where every barrel tells its own story.

Bourbon started to define me the moment I decides to pour my passion into creating Torchtree. I created Torchtree to bring those barrels home to find the ones that most people overlook, and give them the spotlight they deserve, Every pick I make is exclusive, hand-selected, and meant for the community I call home. Texas.

I came into this as a customer someone who knows what it feels like to spend hard-earned money on a bottle and hope it delivers. So when you ask what Torchtree is. It's not just bourbon. It's a promise to bring you something rare, honest, and worth pouring again. Bluegrass Born Lone Star raised.
